The Wonky EP ~ OUT NOW!

Listen, download or buy the CD!

The Wonky EP: coming 1st June 2015!

It’s true – we finally recorded our debut EP! We did it in the stunning surroundings of St Mark’s church in Levenshulme and we were joined on drums by the amazing Phil Howley – read more about it and see the photos on our shiny new website.

It is currently being pressed and will be available to buy on CD and download from 1st June. We are doing a very limited run of the CD so if you want one, don’t hang about.

We are officially launching The Wonky EP on Saturday 6th June at the Klondyke in Levenshulme, Manchester. Phil Howley will be joining us once again on drums so it proves to be very special. Hope to see you there.

Wonky Face

Hello! Thought it was about time I posted something, so you know I’m still alive. So here is Wonky Face for your ears:

I recently did a lovely version of this song with ace harpist Katie Brett which I’m hoping you might get to hear sometime.

Lou and Llamas are still beavering away. We should have some recordings to share with you soon. We’re also excited to be performing at the launch of the first ever Levenshulme Food and Drink Frestival on Friday 21st June. Let’s hope this sunshine lasts!

Look Up

A little spring thing for you. Written on Easter Sunday, recorded on Easter Monday. Featuring my brother, Oscar Armer on bass.

New Demos

There’s a load of new (and not so new) demos up on my Soundcloud. They are all very rough. I’ve been privately putting up stuff for the band to learn over the last few months and decided to stop being so precious about them, so they are now public. They sound completely different with the band anyway. I’m also working on some less rough solo versions. No, really, I am!

Lou and the Llamas at Levenshulme Market

We’ve been hard at work, getting ready for the Levy Jamboree on Friday 9th November. Yesterday we did our first EVER gig at Levenshulme Market! As first gigs go, it wasn’t half bad despite the nerves, wind and cold. Take a look for yourself! (Thanks to Ed Sprake for the videos.)

Lou and the Llamas – Stuck

Lou and the Llamas – Get Your Spirits High (Lou’s Blues)

There’s a lot more to come at the Klondyke on 9th November – yesterday’s set is just one side of the Llamas. We also have a few surprises in store… Advance tickets are now on sale at Pod Deli and they are selling quite fast so get yours quick!

If you’re not able to get to Manchester, you can hear us live in session on ALL FM next Sunday 4th November 11pm-1am GMT (you can listen online).

Lou and the Llamas are:

Lou Armer (ukulele/guitar/vocals)
Kate Bowes (trumpet/vocals)
Matt Verrill (guitar/keyboards)
Phil Hardy (upright bass)

We’ve also just joined the Twitters!

Sad Song ~ Lyrics (Letra)

It’s really interesting seeing the search terms that drive people to my site. Recently, someone in Brazil has been searching for the lyrics to Sad Song, so here they are. Maybe I should automatically post the lyrics when I upload new songs?

Sad Song

I always knew
That I’d lose you
But please don’t say
It has to be this way

I will wait
However long it takes
Keep you safe
As you fade away

I will stay
I’ll tend your grave
Keep you safe
Like I wish I could in life

Messing With My Head

Lou Armer – Messing With My Head

This is a brand new tune I’ve been working on. It’s not the final mix but I thought I’d share it for those of you that missed it on The Mainstream this morning. And to prove I’m not just living the high life here in Boston!

Featuring Craig Robertson on guitar who also recorded and mixed it.

Loukelele ~ The Mainstream Cloudcast now online!

If you missed the live session I did back in November for The Mainstream radio show on ALL FM, here’s your chance to check it out. Thanks Kev!
