Lou is a vocalist, songwriter, musician and improviser based in Manchester, England. She plays ukulele, guitar and sometimes saxophone and keyboards. She also has a love-hate relationship with technology.
Her main band is Lou and the Llamas, purveyors of “Knee-trembling, witty, heart-warming songs“. Their sound has been described as “Melodic folk/blues with a wry intelligence. Annoyingly catchy songs, too“. Click here to catch them live.
Previously, she sang and played with Paula Darwish & The Country & Eastern Band, performing songs in Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and English. With the band she performed all over the UK and toured Turkey twice, including performances on national Turkish TV.
Lou organises Levy Uke Up, a ukulele jam which takes places every second and last Sunday of the month at the Kingsway pub in Levenshulme, Manchester.
She is available to perform solo or with Lou and the Llamas. Contact her here.
